Each year, the City of New York institutes a permitting embargo during the holiday season, which means no event permits will be issued in NYC during this set period. There are some areas that are excluded – please call us for details.

How long will the embargo last?

November 25 2026 – January 3 2027

Does the embargo apply to events on private property?

No, the embargoed areas only include public property, unless the elements of your event will trigger additional permits such as a NYC DOB permit.
